What do you want for Christmas?

For years my boys have been asking for a baby for Christmas.  Last year they searched all over online for a baby to adopt.  They wanted Santa to bring a baby in a stocking.  We always wanted to try to have a baby girl, but with Lukie's health being so unstable we waited a while to try one last time for our baby girl.  We finally felt like Luke's health is stable enough for him to be a big brother.  So May 4th I surprised Mike and told him we were expecting baby #5!  After going to the doctor we learned that the due date is December 25th Christmas!  Just like the boys asked for:).  After a couple of weeks we asked the boys if they still wanted a baby for Christmas.  Kaleb and Luke of course said yes.  So we had a special dinner with everything we could think of that had to do with "baby"; baby carrots, baby corn, baby potatoes, baby hot dogs, and baby soda.  Then I told the boys we wanted to give them something special for Christmas, but we were going to tell them now because they had to prepare for it.  We then sent the boys on a treasure hunt.  At the end of the treasure hunt we had a basket full of baby things and candy baby bottles for the boys.  The boys were very surprised and very excited!

Ultrasound photos

We decided to have a Gender Reveal party to find out what we are having and celebrate with our families.  To find out what the gender will be we took the ultrasound photo to a baker who made a cake.  The icing in the middle of the cake told us the gender of the baby; pink for a girl, blue for a boy.  We also had another ultrasound photo in an envelope for us to keep and double check.  Before we cut the cake we had everyone guess what the gender would be.  I made a poster with Old Wives Tales to help everyone made their decision.  Here are the old wives tales and their results.  Mom dreams of boy= Girl, baby's heart rate above 140= girl, Indian legend=boy, mom's cravings= boy, key test=boy, Chinese gender calendar=girl, baking soda test=girl, red cabbage test=boy, and Mayan gender predictor=girl.  Most people voted that we would have a girl, I kind of think we voted that way because they all hoped we would have a girl after 4 boys.  I was so sure the baby would be a boy, Mike was certain it would be a girl.

So what is your guess??

 We are tickled Pink that we are finally having a GIRL!!!!  We have had 2 ultrasounds and it is without a doubt a happy healthy baby girl! If all goes well the doctor is planning on delivering the baby a week early via c-section on December 18th.  Only 14 weeks left!

First day of school

August 18th the boys started school.  Jayden is now a Sophomore in High School, Kaleb is in 7th grade and started Jr. High, Isaac has his last year of Elementary in 6th grade, and Luke started 2nd grade.  I can't believe my kids are so grown up!  Here's to a great school year!

 Luke and his nurse last year Mandy.  Mandy started a new dream job so she will not be Luke's nurse.  But she was nice enough to spend the first week with him to help him adjust and orientate the new nurse Ariel (who I forgot to take a picture of).  We miss Mandy and wish her the best. 

REAL Salt Lake

Mike, Jayden and Kaleb had the opportunity to watch a couple of Real Salt Lake games.  In one game Mike was chosen to go on the field during half time and compete to win $2,500!  And guess what he actually won!!!  With the money we bought new couches, and chairs, and clothes for the kids.  Way to go MIKEE!!!

Cousins and more fun!

Every  years the Nobbs family drives from Pittsburgh to visit Utah for the summer.  We always love to see them.  Here are a few pictures of the kids having fun with cousins.

 Since camping is a little tricky with Lukie Mike and the boys camped in our back yard.  They had fun staying up late playing the PS4 on our outdoor theater.

Happy Birthday/Anniversary!

July 10th Mike and I celebrated our 17th anniversary and my birthday.  Mike and I never get to go away over night so we made a last minute plan to stay at a relaxing night at Anniversary In in Salt Lake. It was a much needed break!
