Finally!!

Kaleb has been patiently waiting to lose his first tooth. He wanted a lose tooth so bad! He was pretty upset he is 7 1/2 and the only one in his class who had not lost any teeth. He was convinced he would be the only adult who never lost his baby teeth:) Finally about a month ago he wiggled his top tooth long enough it became lose. Last night at his last soccer game of the season he got bumped in the mouth causing his tooth to be more lose. At last the long awaited tooth fell out!!! He was so excited! The tooth fairy actually remembered to come last night (the tooth fairy seems to forget to come, causing me to try to by sneaky in the morning). Kaleb got $2 instead of the usual $1 for waiting so long to lose a first tooth. Maybe now Kaleb can sing All I want for Christmas is my 2 front teeth:)

Checkup in Pittsburgh

Last week Lukie had his annual checkup Pittsburgh. My mom and I took Luke this time and Mike stayed home with the boys. Things went really well. The doctors reviewed the test results from our testing in Texas. The results were better than they expected them to be. The doctors really want us to push his feeds and see how well he tolerates it. They also really want him to eat orally. Kids like him seem to do better is they eat orally. If he doesn't tolerate higher tube feeds and oral feeds in 6 months they would like to place him on status 2 transplant list (we are hoping we don't have go that route). The thing is Lukie doesn't eat much orally. He loves to play with food and may be try a few bites, then spit out his food. He is more interested in eating for the social reasons. So we also spent a day at the Children's Institute learning what to do to get him to eat. We do have a occupation therapist, but doesn't seem real helpful. We will now also be going to a children's rehab and doing things at home a couple of times a day to try to help Lukie how to eat.

Well in Pittsburgh we met a friend I met on Facebook. Matisse and her family moved to Pittsburgh from New Zealand for multi visceral transplant (stomach, pancreas, small bowel, and colon). Matisse is 9 1/2 and was born with Chronic Intestinal Pseudo Obstruction and story is similar to Luke's. Matisse and her mom are amazing. They have sacrificed so much to get their daughter what she needs. They have lived here for 4 years waiting for transplant and are still waiting to get her life saving organs. Matisse is such a sweet heart I fell in love with her and so did Lukie!

I realized I didn't get any pictures with my sister Melissa. So I took this one at 4:00 in the morning at the airport. None of us got any sleep that night so we looked beautiful! I'm sure My mom and Melissa would enjoy me putting this picture on:)

Now that Luke is 2 I have to pay for him to have his own big boy seat!

Soccer boys

This week Jayden, Kaleb and Isaac started soccer making the next 6 weeks crazy busy fun. Kaleb and Isaac are on the same team this year. It was so much fun watching the excitement on their faces as they played. Kaleb and Isaac scored their first goals! They loved playing, and I loved watching them. Jayden has been playing for the last 5 years and loves it. He is on a good team this year and looking forward to a great season.

Cute pictures of Lukie!!!

Lukie loves getting his pictures taken. In fact when he was in the hospital he would say "cheese!" every time they scanned his ID band. He likes to go downstairs in the studio and play photographer, he is so funny he makes us laugh all the time. Lukie acts like any 2 year old and is very busy, bossy, and spunky. He says almost everything. The words he says most often are "uppy" (hold me), and "I NEED you". Here are some cute pics we took today. And yes he posed himself:)

The boys are back in School!

The 3 older boys started school last week. I can't believe I have a 5th grader!! My babies are growing up! Kaleb is in 2nd grade, and Isaac started 1st grade. I am now home alone with Lukie all day:) The boys have great teachers here is to a great year!

Update on Lukie........

Lukie was discharged from the hospital just in time for the first day of school. He was septic with Klebseilla, EColi, and staph (3 yucky bugs). The doctors wanted to pull his central line, but Mike stated his opinion and stopped them. His central line is his life line, but it always causes many of his problems. We were home for about 12 hours when his broviac cracked and broke. We had to head back to Primary Children's to get it fixed. It was also clotted. So we spent all day fixing his central line. They tried and tried to unclott it and could not get it to work. Then little Lukie grabbed the syringe and said "come on blood, come on blood"! And guess what it worked! We are now back home and loving it!
