Art City Days!

Last week was Springville's Art City Days. Wednesday we went to the Carnival with grandma Emily, it was 50 cent night:) Lukie loved the excitement of the carnival he was so excited I could barely hold on to him! Mike took him on the Merry Go Round but he was scared so Mike just stood and held him. After we got the famous scones, what a healthy dinner! Saturday was the parade and fire works. Mike and the 3 older boys went to the parade while I stayed home with Lukie. We also had a BBQ at Mike's parents house. It rained most of the day but we still were able to watch fireworks at our house that night, because it was also Orem's Summer Fest. I love summer time!

Lukie Bug!

Lukie no longer seems like a little baby but now a little boy! He keeps me very busy. Lukie rolls around and is getting better at sitting. He now knows how to pull off his ostomy bag and broviac dressing (not a good thing) which makes things more difficult for me. We have been busy this week with 3 trips to Primary Children's Hospital, 2 times for broken broviac ( which they were able to fix both times, YAY) and once for GI appointment. We were also concerned about his ileostomy stoma, it looked really funny and did not have output for a few days but it ended up being fine. He is still the same Lukie as far as feedings go. He doesn't seem to tolerate a whole lot of feedings and is still on 24 hour TPN (IV fluid through his broviac). GI was very happy with his growth this month. He is now 12lbs 10oz and 24 inches. Their plan is to have him grow one pound a month. 24 hour TPN becomes harder for me now that Lukie is more active but essential for the amount of calories they are giving him to grow. He gets tangles in his tubes and it is hard for him to move around. I have become creative and found ways to keep his broviac (permanent IV) safe since it is his life line, I now keep it rapped in something called coflex. I feel bad but as GI told me as much as we want him to be normal and go swimming like other kids he isn't normal.

I found a giant tea cup at Walmart and had to buy it for Lukie to sit in, I thought it was so cute!
