The day started with a ground breaking at 8:00 with a short program and started on the construction of our new home. BMC West was kind enough to cook us delicious hot breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our new ward members came to volunteer set up and clean up of all meals. The day was hot and sunny until dinner time and it poured rain. But the awesome Magelby construction workers worked hard for 13 hours straight through the hot sun and pouring rain. We thanked them for their work and one of them said "When it is work like this it doesn't seem like 13 hours. We would would rather build homes for organizations like Habitat for Humanity than the big fancy houses that don't mean as much."
By the end of the the day the crawl space was finished, floor boards finished, and framed the 4 outside walls.
