Payson Temple cultural celebration

The youth in the Payson area worked hard to prepare for a youth cultural celebration.  I am proud of Jayden and Kaleb in participating in this once in a lifetime opportunity.  They danced to the song "Happy" and sang along with a few songs.  It was a amazing performance one we will never forget.

 Shortly before the performance began in started to rain.  And I don't just mean a little bit.  I'm talking flash flood rain.  We were all told to take cover.  This lasted about an hour.  They then sent around the youth to many groups who lead everyone in prayer.  Right after the rain stopped and they were able to start the performance a little but better than never:).  We thought this was a cool experience, but then on Facebook the next day we found out more to the story that made this experience a true miracle.  This is the Facebook status from someone on Facebook.

Elaine is the MIL of one of Jason's relatives. It was a seizure not an aneurism, but I sure appreciate her time and effort she put into making the cultural celebration a wonderful experience for our youth! What a special lady to take that on. I know the Lord will bless her and her family.  I just found out why it rained like it did on Saturday. Elaine Hansen, the women who organized the whole Cultural Celebration program was driving to the airport to pick up her son who wanted to come and see the program. Elaine was driving the car and had an aneurism. Her husband was in the car and managed to pull the car over without crashing. She had a tumor the size of a baseball in her brain. She still came to the program against the doctor’s wishes and sat in the covered booth at the top of the stadium to watch the program. The rain gave them time to get her to the hospital and be tested and then make it to the program in time for President Eyring to give her a blessing. She had the tumor removed yesterday.

President Henry B Eyring was present at the program along with some other general authoritys of the church.

During the final song the youth each took a turn to remove their white shirts revealing their true colors underneath.   It was the perfect end, especially with the storm we had earlier in the evening. 

The beautiful Payson temple.  We can see the steeple shining from our house everyday.  What a great reminder that families can be together forever!
