Teddy Bear Clinic

In June Mountain View Hospital had a Teddy bear clinic, where kids were invited to come with their stuffed animals and explore the different areas of the Hospital.  Luke had been looking forward to this for weeks!  There was a ton of people there when we arrived and we ended up waiting outside in hot sunny 100 degree weather for over an hour for our turn.  But it was so worth the wait watching the excitement on Luke's face.  He brought his special Buddy bear that has all of the cool attachments that Luke has.  He loves his buddy bear, it was a fun experience to show Luke that the hospital isn't always a scary place.  First Buddy was born, we weighed him and measured him and put on a t-shirt. Then Buddy had x-rays on his broken leg.  Next Buddy had an angiogram on his heart.  Next he had surgery, Dr. Luke helped put medicine in the IV and oxygen mask on Buddy.  Buddy had a great OR nurse, our neighbor Kirsten Harmon!  After surgery Buddy had his first visit to the Emergency Room where we made a splint for his broken leg.  And last Buddy the bear checked out the life flight helicopter!
