Within only a few hours cultures grew positive for E.Coli in his central line and also throughout his blood stream. Poor Lukie was miserable. He was on Motrin and Tylenol and still had a fever of 104. We had some scary moments when he would not respond to us and his eyes would roll in the back of his head. He was also hallucinating and having vertigo. He body was not responding to the medication. Finally with ice packs his fever came down a little. Lukie was not him self for a couple of days until his buddy Evie came to visit. Evie was the best medicine for him! As soon as she came he wanted to get out of his bed and go to the play room. The doctors and nurses asked if Evie could stay beacuse they hadn't seen him have any energy at all in days! After 5 days in the hospital we were able to come home on IV antibiotics.
Friends are the best medicine:)
