Update on hospital stay

Cultures came back positive from Luke's CVL and PIV for Coagulase Negative Staph.  Which luckily is usually easy to treat.  The biggest concern this admit was Luke's low platelet count and his bone marrow not functioning causing low white blood cell count and immature red blood cells.  He also had a small GI bleed that resolved on its own.  We were about to be transferred to the ICU at Primary Children's when suddenly his platelets started to come back up on his own.  After 5 days in the hospital we were able to go come just in time for school to start and soccer games to begin! Luke is on IV Nafcillin 24 hours a day for 2 weeks and blood work every few days as well as follow up appointments with doctors but we are home:).  Both doctors have different thoughts on issues with bone marrow happened.  One doctor thinks it was particularly caused by his medications, Gabapentin and Cyproheptadine, and also the infection.  The other doctor believes it was caused by the infection only.  Whatever it was Luke's bone marrow is functioning again.:)  It's just one of those things that Lukie does sometimes and we really don't know why.  Like Lukie always says "Gotcha Good!"
Facetime with brothers while they were at Disneyland
Nurse Dennis felt bad that Luke didn't have a chance to buy a prize from Disneyland so Dennis brought in Disney surprises to him!
Luke asked Dennis to draw Batman on his door
After a couple of days the rest of the family came home and surprised Lukie with a Buzz gun:)
