There is not a lot of changes this week. We are still doing continuous feedings of one cc every hour. His body can not absorb more than this. Your body naturally produces bile that is emptied just below the stomach to help digest food. All of the bile and food is greater that Lucas's intake from his TPN (IV fluid). Even when we refeed his lower stoma this week, the lower intestines will only be able to absorb about 5cc an hour. It will be a messy and complicated procedure. We are planning on being here about 2 more weeks. Lucas had his fourth PICC line placed Friday thanks to his nurse who was not careful enough and pulled it out to far.
I was able to go to Relief Society Conference last night with my mom and sisters. We had AWESOME seats. It was nice to get away. There will not be changes at the hospital until they start lower feeding later this week.

Can I just tell you ... those are the best pictures yet!!! He is so cute and looking good ... I am glad you got to go to the conference, it was such a good meeting as usual. We had some slight complications at building...the men forgot to set up the projector and screen!!! I am a counselor in the Stake and we didn't notice until about 20 before .. we were preparing the refreshments for after, our president happened to walk in the chapel and wa la...nothing! We were told everything was set up earlier, and yes, the chairs were, just not the projector and screen. OOps!! Anyway, quick cell phone calling and we were set for the meeting on time!! Hurray, the Lord works in mysterious ways for sure!!!
Oooohh...too cute!!! He is looking great you guys!!! Lots of love from the Herrings!
