Guess What?

You probably guessed right? Sunday Lucas vomited which seemed like every 5-15 minutes and at night it turned into green bile. This morning Allison took him to the doctors and they called the GI doctor at Primary Children’s and told us to take him to the ER. So I left work from Salt Lake and we went to Primary Children’s, but not before a cop on a bike pulls us over for going 50 in a 25. The sad thing is I didn't even notice. The cop let us go without a ticket when I told him Lucas was sick and he could smell the vomit. We spent 7 hours in the ER; he was so distended and very dehydrated. His bowels were loopy. They said his blood count was high and that can mean he has something more going on like an infection. The x-rays showed a lot of poop in his Colin. They did an enema and two meatball size rock hard stools came out, he is just so constipated. They said plan on at least 5 days at the hospital.

We were reminded today how lucky we are to have the family we do that care and love for one another. The ER we shared a room with only a curtain separating us. At 6:30 a baby was fighting for her life on the other side of the curtain. Social services were there since the dad was in jail and the mom took off. Allison said it look like the whole ER staff was in that room. Allison and Lucas were finally taking up to their room, but Allison had a good look at her and it didn’t look like the baby girl was going to make it. My heart goes out to that little baby girl.
