Little Baby Lucas Update - September 21st 2008

There are not a lot of changes for Lucas today. He pulled out his oxygen to tell the nurse he no longer needed it. He still has the NG tube in his nose sucking out a fair amount of green intestinal bile. His stomach was a little distended today. The Surgeon thinks it is because his stomas (the part of his intestines sticking out of his stomach) are not working properly yet. Hopefully it will get better with time. The biopsy’s taken during surgery showed ganglion cells which means he does not have Hirschsprung's Disease that we were hoping would explain his pseudo obstruction. It is a day by day journey for this little guy. We have had overwhelming support this week thank you so much for caring we love all of you!

So glad to see the little guy so alert. I remember all about trying to hold Morgan after surgeries & them having to adjust all the crazy tubes & wires. He really is such a beautiful boy. How are your other boys doing with everything??

I am so glad it isn't HD but sad as well that they don't know. My only other advise is contact Dr Levitt at Cincinattie children's ask him for advise. He is awesome at replying to emails to non patients. Him and Pena are awesome doctors and really love and care for children. They might have some insight. In my prayers....
